SWS: 93% of Pinoys hopeful for 2022

A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey shows that 93% of adult Filipinos are entering 2022 with hope rather than fear.

This figure is slightly higher than last year's 91%, but still lower than the pre-COVID-19 level of 96% in 2019.

The survey, conducted from December 12 to 16, also found that 7% of Filipinos are entering the new year with fear, unchanged from last year.

Regionally, Metro Manila had the highest hope rating at 95%, followed by Balance Luzon and Mindanao both at 93%, and Visayas at 90%.

Despite some anxieties due to the Omicron variant, the economy started to open up as COVID-19 cases dropped towards early pandemic levels in late 2021.
