AMLC: Guo used 'Wen Yi Lin' as mom's name in bank docs

At a Senate inquiry on Wednesday, the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) revealed that suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo listed 'Wen Yi Lin' as her mother's maiden name when opening one of her bank accounts.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian questioned why Guo used multiple variations for her mother's maiden name in different documents, noting inconsistencies such as 'Leal,' which he suggested was fictional.

Gatchalian presented Board of Investments (BOI) records showing that Guo Hua Ping entered the Philippines at age 13 on January 12, 2003, with Lin Wen Yi listed as her mother for their Special Investors Resident Visa application.

The BOI documents also indicated that Lin Wen Yi was listed as the mother in SIRV applications, contradicting Guo's claim that Amelia Leal is her legal mother. Gatchalian emphasized that Guo voluntarily used 'Wen Yi Lin' before the issue became public.

Senators and investigators suspect that Guo's real mother is Chinese citizen Lin Wen Yi, with evidence suggesting she was referred to as Guo's mother by residents in Valenzuela.
