Speaker Romualdez calls for swift probe into fatal shooting of House staff chief

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez called for a thorough and swift investigation into the fatal shooting of House Committee on Ways and Means Technical Staff Chief Mauricio R. Pulhin, expressing profound grief and outrage over the incident.

Romualdez urged law enforcement agencies to investigate all possible angles, including professional affiliations, to ensure justice is served for Pulhin's family and colleagues.

Pulhin was shot around 2:50 PM during a birthday celebration in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, and later died at the hospital despite medical efforts.

The Philippine National Police and National Bureau of Investigation are carrying out a 'thorough, impartial and swift' probe into Pulhin's killing to bring closure to the case.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla assured a prompt and thorough investigation by the Department of Justice (DOJ), urging the public to cooperate with authorities in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.

The DOJ vowed justice for Pulhin, stating that they would work closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the full force of the law.
