PNP identifies persons of interest in Pulhin killing

On Tuesday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) identified persons of interest in the killing of Mauricio 'Morrie' Pulhin, a 63-year-old House committee on ways and means official who was shot during his daughter's birthday party in Quezon City over the weekend.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), one potential person of interest could be connected to Pulhin's business activities, although this individual is not believed to be directly involved as a gunman.

The QCPD noted that while CCTV footage indicates two gunmen on motorcycles were responsible for shooting Pulhin at close range and fleeing the scene, several angles are being considered in the ongoing investigation.

Despite inquiries from family members indicating no known enemies of Pulhin, investigators are exploring various motives and connections related to his business operations.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) condemned the shooting and assured that it will coordinate with the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation to ensure those responsible are identified and held accountable.
