Pasig mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya neither confirms nor denies link to smear video

Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya neither confirmed nor denied whether a smear video against Mayor Vico Sotto was filmed at her firm's compound.

Discaya's party, Team Kaya This, stated on April 10 that they do not control every conversation or content produced by visitors to their home and headquarters.

The mayoral campaign team distanced themselves from the video, emphasizing that they do not condone using vulnerable individuals for smear campaigns.

According to initial findings by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the 57-year-old woman with a psychological disability was reportedly instructed on what to say during the interview at St. Gerard Construction, owned by the Discayas.

The DSWD is coordinating with law enforcement to identify those responsible for the video and exploring legal actions against them under Republic Act No. 7610, which prohibits exploitation of persons with disabilities.

Team Kaya This said they are ready to cooperate fully with authorities investigating the coerced interview featured in the video.
