Senators urge gov't to protect OFWs amid Israel-Iran tensions

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts to reassure Filipinos in the region, prioritizing dialogue over hostility and advocating for restraint and de-escalation.

Senator Joel Villanueva advised close coordination between Filipino workers and Philippine embassies for repatriation assistance if needed, urging compatriots to remain safe and secure.

Philippine officials have expressed concern over potential economic impacts, including rising fuel prices, and encouraged affected Filipinos to evacuate if necessary, with the DFA currently issuing Alert Level 3 warnings for both Israel and Iran.
