Escudero calls for probe into ineffective flood control, despite funding

In response to the severe flooding caused by Super Typhoon Carina, Senate President Francis Escudero is calling for an investigation into flood control measures and their effectiveness in safeguarding communities despite significant annual funding allocations.

Escudero has urged the DPWH and MMDA to work with local government units to inspect flooded areas and recommend sustainable solutions to prevent future flooding incidents.

Other senators, including Nancy Binay and JV Ejercito, have also criticized the current flood control projects for their perceived lack of effectiveness in dealing with torrential rains and flooding.
