Senate ratifies Bayanihan 2 with PHP165.5B budget

The Senate ratified Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2) on Thursday with a PHP165.5 billion budget.

Support for health workers and tracers is the largest allocation, totaling PHP140 billion of regular appropriations.

This includes PHP3 billion for procurement of medical supplies, PHP4.5 billion each for constructing temporary facilities and expanding hospital capacity, and PHP13.5 billion to employ emergency Human Resources for Health.

Other allocations include PHP25.5 billion as standby funds for additional government revenues.
