Senate suspends plenary sessions Aug. 9-23 due to ECQ

The Senate will suspend plenary sessions from August 9 to 23 due to Metro Manila being placed under enhanced community quarantine.

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri initially announced the suspension for August 9 to 11, but it was later extended until August 23 by Senate President Vicente Sotto III.

House Secretary General Mark Llandro Mendoza inquired about the Senate's health protocols during ECQ, leading to the decision to suspend sessions.

Zubiri also mentioned that committee hearings might be canceled due to logistical challenges involving stenographers who cannot work remotely.
