Senate honors Ricky Davao for his contributions to Philippine entertainment

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada has filed Senate Resolution No. 1351 to honor veteran actor and director Ricky Davao's significant contributions to Philippine entertainment.

Davao, who passed away on May 1, 2025, at the age of 63 due to cancer complications, was celebrated for his dedication to Filipino stories across various media platforms.

Estrada highlighted Davao’s versatility and bravery in tackling complex roles, noting his impact as both an actor and a television director.

The resolution aims to ensure that Davao's legacy is remembered within the Philippine Senate and beyond, recognizing his artistic excellence and groundbreaking performances.

In over 40 years of his career, Davao starred in more than 234 acting roles, earning numerous accolades including Best Actor at the Cinemanila International Film Festival in 1999.
