Senators Aquino, Pangilinan, Marcoleta, Cayetano, Villar secure committee chairmanships

The Senate has officially assigned committee chairmanships for the 20th Congress, with several majority lawmakers securing their desired positions.

Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan lead the Committees on Basic Education and Agriculture, respectively, despite criticism for joining the majority.

Rodante Marcoleta chairs the powerful Blue Ribbon Committee tasked with investigating government corruption, while Pia Cayetano heads the Finance Committee and also leads the committees on Energy and Sustainable Development.

Neophyte senator Camille Villar has been appointed as chair of the Environment Committee, continuing her father's legacy in environmental advocacy.

The list does not yet include committee assignments for the minority bloc, including Tito Sotto, Ping Lacson, Miguel Zubiri, Loren Legarda, and Risa Hontiveros; updates will be provided as information becomes available.
