Hontiveros calls on Marcos Jr. to disclose SALN

Senator Risa Hontiveros called on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., his Cabinet, and lawmakers to disclose their Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) following the President's order for a lifestyle check on government officials involved in alleged corruption.

Hontiveros argued that the President should set an example by disclosing his SALN since he ordered the lifestyle checks and said she expects Marcos to include himself among those being checked.

The Right to Know, Right Now! Coalition echoed Hontiveros' call, urging Marcos and other officials to publish their SALNs through the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.

The coalition also stressed the need for a clear roadmap on audits and investigations with timelines to ensure that anti-corruption efforts are comprehensive and credible.

Senate President Francis Escudero supported lifestyle checks, citing constitutional provisions requiring public officials to lead modest lives without extravagant displays of wealth.
