Marcos orders lifestyle checks on DPWH officials

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered a lifestyle check on all government officials as part of an investigation into anomalous flood control projects.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that the lifestyle checks will begin with officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), which oversees the projects under scrutiny.

Marcos also directed a continuous review of DPWH records to identify those responsible for the questionable projects.

The government's investigation aims to uncover misuse of public funds in projects intended to alleviate flooding but have raised suspicions.

Since receiving citizen complaints through the Sumbong Sa Pangulo portal, Marcos has personally inspected 11 flood control projects in various regions.

As of Wednesday morning, over 9,000 reports related to questionable flood-control projects had been received through the platform.

The Palace urged the public to remain vigilant and report any anomalies within their areas.
