Sen Gatchalian warns Guo may flee with Chinese passport

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian raised concerns on Thursday about suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo potentially using her Chinese passport to escape the Philippines.

Gatchalian believes that Guo's Chinese passport, which she used until 2011, could still be active and serve as an insurance policy if she faces legal issues.

The senator requested the Bureau of Immigration to check for any recent departures by Alice Guo or Guo Hua Ping from formal exit points.

According to immigration records, Guo is currently in the Philippines, suggesting her presence remains confirmed, but Gatchalian advised her to surrender due to public recognition and difficulty in escaping.

Guo is under investigation by the Senate for her involvement with a raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators hub and questions about her citizenship.

Gatchalian has also warned of death threats against him and Senator Risa Hontiveros, leaving it to the Philippine National Police to investigate.

He has beefed up his security and advised his family to take extra care while continuing his work unaffected.
