VP Sara Duterte says impeachment talks against her are openly discussed in House

Vice President Sara Duterte stated on Tuesday that some members of the House of Representatives are planning to file an impeachment complaint against her.

Duterte said during a press conference that despite denials from some lawmakers, the topic is openly discussed within the House and among her friends there who fear speaking out.

She reiterated that ongoing investigations targeting her family members, including her father former President Rodrigo Duterte and brother Paolo Duterte, are part of an attempt to project them as corrupt or criminals.

Duterte expressed readiness to lose her position if impeached but said she is not bothered by the impeachment talks; instead, she is frustrated by attempts to undermine public choice based on power and politics.

The Vice President also mentioned that while she initially did not plan to run for vice president, she has no regrets about it and currently has no plans to run for president in 2028.
