Sara clarifies Duterte's health at ICC: not bedridden, AI-generated photo false

A recent Facebook reel showing former President Rodrigo Duterte looking thin and frail is false, as the photo used was flagged as 98% likely to be AI-generated by Sight Engine.

Vice President Sara Duterte visited her father at the ICC detention facility in The Hague and clarified that while he has lost weight, he is not bedridden or hospitalized.

Sara further stated that the image was probably edited with a different person's body but Duterte's face, emphasizing his current ability to walk with just a cane.

Elizabeth Zimmerman, Duterte's ex-wife, described him as 'skin and bones' but noted that he looked healthy otherwise, while Malacañang remains unconcerned about the weight loss.
