San Miguel Beermen lose to Suwon KT Sonic Boom 81-87 in EASL opener

San Miguel Beermen lost to Suwon KT Sonic Boom in their opening match of the East Asia Super League 2024-2025 season with a final score of 87-81.

Despite leading by four points at halftime, San Miguel struggled to maintain their lead as Rayshaun Hammonds scored 39 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the second half.

EJ Anosike led San Miguel with 34 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while June Mar Fajardo contributed 19 points and nine rebounds; however, no other Beermen player scored in double figures.

Beermen head coach Jorge Gallent attributed their loss to small mistakes in the final stages of the game rather than a lack of preparation due to balancing EASL matches with PBA playoff commitments.

San Miguel inched within 75-78 after a putback by Fajardo with five minutes left before Suwon unleashed a decisive fourth-quarter run, building a comfortable lead and securing their victory.
