San Beda beats San Sebastian 85-75 in NCAA

San Beda University secured a victory over San Sebastian College-Recoletos with an 85-75 score in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Bryan Sajonia, a rookie for San Beda, led the team with a career-high 26 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, alongside eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block.

Yuki Andrada contributed significantly with five three-pointers to finish with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while San Sebastian's Rafael Are and Tristan Felebrico were limited to only nine points each.

San Beda coach Yuri Escueta highlighted the team's success in limiting San Sebastian's strengths but noted that free-throw shooting needs improvement, as they converted just 15 of 38 attempts compared to 11-of-24 in their previous game.

Escueta emphasized that while practice is crucial, players must adapt to the pressure and atmosphere unique to NCAA games when it comes to executing free throws.
