RTWPB approves wage hike for workers in Western Visayas

A daily wage increase ranging from P33 to P40 for workers in private establishments and a monthly increase of P1,000 for household service workers or 'kasambahays' in Western Visayas have been approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) effective after November 16.

For non-agricultural workers with more than 10 employees, the daily wage will rise from P480 to P513, while those with 10 or fewer employees will see their daily wages increase from P450 to P485.

Agricultural workers currently earning P440 per day will receive a new daily wage of P480.

Household service workers, known as 'kasambahays,' will now earn P6,000 monthly, up from the previous P5,000.

The approved increase was unanimously decided by the RTWPB-6 on October 22 and is expected to take effect after November 16 following approval by the National Wages and Productivity Commission.
