Roque visits Boracay to revive tourism

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque visited Boracay on Sunday and Monday to encourage Filipinos to visit the island, which reopened to domestic tourists on October 1.

Roque emphasized that tourism is crucial for the local economy, with around 30,000 livelihoods dependent on it.

Despite health concerns, Governor Florencio Miraflores of Aklan expressed hope that reopening Boracay would provide an economic boost to the area.

Stringent health protocols are in place, including a required negative RT-PCR test result for all arriving visitors.
