Duterte skips weekly address due to rising cases

President Rodrigo Duterte skipped his weekly public address on April 7 due to rising coronavirus cases.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque stated that the decision was made to protect the President's physical safety, while Senator Bong Go suggested it was due to PSG members testing positive for COVID-19.

Duterte's last public appearance was on March 29 when he welcomed one million Sinovac vaccine doses.

Roque also mentioned that Duterte will no longer be physically present during the reception of donated vaccines.
