Private firms allowed to buy COVID-19 vaccines through tripartite deal

Private companies are allowed to purchase COVID-19 vaccines through a tripartite agreement with the government.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire clarified that private firms can procure vaccines provided they comply with public health guidelines.

Senators and lawmakers had raised concerns over a draft administrative order suggesting restrictions on certain industries like tobacco, infant milk formula, soda, and liquor from buying vaccines for their employees.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed that all companies are permitted to purchase vaccines under the tripartite agreement, dismissing claims of an illegal ban.
