Duterte blames Robredo for vaccine hesitancy

President Rodrigo Duterte and his spokesperson Harry Roque blamed Vice President Leni Robredo for public vaccine hesitancy over Sinovac's CoronaVac, accusing her of politicizing the issue.

Robredo's camp countered that the administration was attacking her to divert attention from urgent issues like vaccine procurement delays and disaster response inefficiencies.

On Monday night, Duterte claimed in a pre-recorded address that Robredo created doubt about Sinovac’s rollout by calling for an HTAC review, which he insisted is only recommendatory under the Universal Health Care Act.
