DOH aims 24-48 hour release for COVID test results

The DOH aims for a processing time of 24 to 48 hours in releasing coronavirus disease (Covid-19) test results.

Currently, it takes five to seven days for the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) to release results due to backlog issues.

Vergeire stated that RITM has committed to addressing this backlog within two to three days.

After resolving the backlog, real-time results will be available within 24 to 48 hours.

Other operational subnational laboratories also aim to follow the 24- to 48-hour standard turnaround time.
