125K coronavirus test kits arrive from China, South Korea

A total of 125,000 coronavirus test kits arrived in the Philippines on Saturday morning from China and South Korea.

Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian turned over 100,000 test kits along with personal protective equipment to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. and DOH representatives.

Dr. Joel Buenaventura of the DOH's Migrant Health Unit stated that these test kits will be distributed from RITM to sub-national laboratories.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III had previously coordinated with Bureau of Customs and FDA to expedite the release of the shipments, emphasizing the need for increased testing capacity.
