IATF reviewing proposal for provincial buses on June 22

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is reviewing a proposal to allow provincial buses starting June 22.

Although the Department of Transportation (DOTr) initially planned to permit provincial buses under Phase Two, this decision was contingent on Metro Manila transitioning to a less strict modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).

Metro Manila and other parts of the country remain under GCQ until June 30 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that the DOTr will announce whether provincial buses will be allowed during Phase Two starting June 22.
