Ortega uncovers 'Team Grocery' in VP Duterte’s funds

House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V has uncovered a new list of potential fictitious beneficiaries of Vice President Sara Duterte's P112.5 million confidential funds, naming them as 'Team Grocery'.

The names include Beverly Claire Pampano (a fish), Mico Harina (flour), Sala Casim (pork shoulder), Patty Ting, and Ralph Josh Bacon.

Ortega highlighted that these names do not appear in official birth, marriage, or death records from the Philippine Statistics Authority, raising questions about the legitimacy of the recipients.

This revelation comes amid ongoing investigations into irregularities with documents submitted by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education regarding confidential funds disbursed in 2022 and 2023.

The Senate's decision to postpone the impeachment trial has added complexity to the political landscape, potentially aligning figures like Senator Francis Escudero with the Duterte camp for strategic advantage.
