Justice Sec Remulla tops Cabinet salaries at P7.08M

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla received the highest salary and allowances among Cabinet members in 2023 at over P7 million, according to the Commission on Audit (COA).

Remulla's total compensation was P7.08 million, nearly half of which came from his basic salaries, with an additional P2.02 million as adjustment compensation for three months in 2022.

Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo followed with total earnings of P6.98 million in 2023, while Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum ranked third with P6.06 million, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma fourth at P5.13 million, and Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan fifth at P5.09 million.

Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno was replaced by Ralph Recto in the Department of Finance, while Vice President Sara Duterte received only P558,000 as Education Secretary, solely on allowances and discretionary expenses.

Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, who assumed his position in November 2023, ranked last among Cabinet secretaries with a little over P418,000.
