BSP officials top list of highest-paid non-elected execs in 2023

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) officials remained the highest-paid non-elected government executives in 2023, according to a Commission on Audit report released on Thursday.

Eli Remolona, BSP Governor, led with total salaries and allowances of P35.48 million, followed by his predecessor Felipe Medalla at P28.05 million.

Chuchi Fonacier, Deputy Governor of the BSP, ranked third with P26.003 million, while Monetary Board members Anita Aquino and Victor Tolentino earned P25.05 million and P24.747 million respectively.

Senior Assistant Governors Edna Villa, Elmore Capule, Johnny Noe E. Ravalo, and Iluminada Sicat completed the top ten list with earnings ranging from P23.519 to P21.124 million.

Among other high-ranking officials, Supreme Court Associate Justice Benjamin Caguioa earned P19.648 million, followed by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and Associate Justice Antonio Kho Jr. with P16.318 million and P16.08 million respectively.
