Quezon City gives P10M aid to Bicol LGUs hit by STS Kristine

The Quezon City government announced a PHP10 million aid package for nine local government units in the Bicol region affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Vice Mayor Gian Sotto stated that the City Council approved Resolution No. SP-9833, extending financial assistance to seven municipalities in Camarines Sur and two in Albay Province, with Iriga City receiving PHP2 million due to a higher number of affected individuals.

The resolution noted that the storm caused extensive damage and displaced residents, affecting over 106,000 families.

Each of the nine identified towns will receive PHP1 million each, except for Iriga City which received PHP2 million.

The funds for this assistance will come from Quezon City's accumulated Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management trust fund.
