Quezon City evacuates 772 people in prep for Typhoon Pepito

Quezon City has initiated pre-emptive evacuations in selected barangays ahead of the potential impact of Super Typhoon Pepito.

The Quezon City Local Government identified several flood-prone areas in Districts 1, 2, and 6 for early evacuation, focusing on Barangays Apolonio Samson, Bagong Silangan, Tatalon, and Damayang Lagi.

As of Sunday afternoon, a total of 266 families or 772 individuals have been evacuated to six designated centers across the city, including Bagong Pag-asa Sports Complex, San Francisco Elementary School, Dalupan Elementary School, and Barangay Halls in Project 6, Tatalon, and Apolonio Samson.

QCDRRMO medics and personnel from various departments are on standby to assist residents in need, with additional preparations made by the City Health Department to distribute medicines at evacuation centers.

Residents are urged to stay vigilant, follow instructions from village officials, and keep updated for any further developments during the typhoon.
