706 devotees seek medical help during Black Nazarene feast

As of 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, a total of 706 devotees participating in the Feast of the Black Nazarene have sought medical assistance.

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) responded to 257 patients for vital signs monitoring and 215 with minor injuries such as abrasions, burns, punctures, lacerations, and difficulty breathing.

Six individuals had major injuries including head trauma, severe chest pain, suspected fractures, and a second-degree burn victim who was pregnant.

Thirty-four patients were transported to the PRC Emergency Field Hospital, while two were admitted to hospitals with more serious conditions.

The Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri shortened work hours until 2 p.m. on Tuesday due to the Traslacion festivities, allowing staff time to attend the event while maintaining essential operations.
