PDEG arrests HVI, seizes PHP18M worth of marijuana in Balagtas

Police officers arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized PHP18 million worth of high-grade marijuana in Balagtas, Bulacan on Saturday.

The unnamed suspect from Marilao, Bulacan was apprehended at around 3:15 p.m. in Northville 6, Barangay Santol, by the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), with assistance from PDEA and local police.

During the operation, authorities confiscated 24 heat-sealed plastic packs containing dried leaves suspected to be high-grade marijuana weighing approximately 12 kg.

Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta stated that this successful operation has disrupted drug distribution in the region, contributing to a safer community.

The suspect is currently held at the Balagtas Municipal Police Station, while the seized drugs will be transferred to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for examination and non-drug evidence will be processed by PDEG.
