PNP chief urges SONA protesters to go online

PNP Chief Gen. Archie Gamboa urged protesters planning to gather for President Rodrigo Duterte's fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27 to hold their protests online instead.

Gamboa cited the ongoing threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has infected over 67,000 individuals in the country.

He emphasized that these are not ordinary times and requested protesters to consider public health protocols prohibiting mass gatherings.
