Police arrest two in Chinese woman's kidnapping

Police arrested two suspects, a Taiwanese man named Rex and his Filipino cohort Reynald, in connection with the kidnapping of a 41-year-old Chinese woman in Manila on Tuesday.

The suspects were apprehended separately in Parañaque and Pasay after demanding P500,000 from Zhou, who was last seen leaving her home in Malate on April 17.

A rescue operation successfully secured the safety of the victim, who was earlier reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Both suspects are now facing charges for kidnapping and serious illegal detention under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code and are currently in police custody awaiting final documentation before filing with judicial authorities.

The Philippine National Police established the Joint Anti-Kidnapping Action Committee to address recent kidnappings of Filipino-Chinese individuals, emphasizing their commitment to upholding the law and protecting all individuals' rights.
