NCRPO investigates lapses in Chinese man's arrest for immigration violations

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) clarified on Friday that a reported abduction of a Chinese individual in Pasig was actually a coordinated operation to arrest him for alleged immigration violations.

However, initial investigations revealed significant operational lapses and coordination issues among agencies involved, which did not follow standard procedures.

Evidence also suggests the use of excessive force by operatives during the operation, including indiscriminate discharge of firearms.

The NCRPO is collaborating with the Bureau of Immigration and Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) to validate findings and investigate possible negligence by local police units.

A comprehensive probe is ongoing, and appropriate criminal charges will be filed if evidence warrants, following due process.
