Police seize PHP8.8M worth shabu, arrest 7 suspects

Police officers arrested three individuals and seized over PHP1.7 million worth of shabu in a sting operation in Barangay San Jose, San Fernando City, Pampanga province on Sunday evening.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, four drug suspects were arrested in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, yielding P340,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation; meanwhile, two more men were apprehended and PHP6.8 million worth of shabu was seized in Cotabato City.

On Wednesday, police anti-narcotic agents arrested a suspected 'high-value' drug trafficker named Edwin at around 5:30 p.m., seizing P340,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan 1, Dasmariñas City.

The first group included 'Alex', 47 from Angeles City; 'Amino', 38 from Bataan; and 'Amed', 38 from General Trias, Cavite. The second group consisted of suspects 'Jomel,' 'Frank,' 'Emmanuel,' and 'Mitchel' who were apprehended at 10:20 p.m.

The third group comprised 'Esmael,' 43, and 'Dali,' 49, both from Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao del Norte. They were arrested during a buy-bust operation on Governor Gutierrez Avenue, Rosary Heights 9 in Cotabato City.

The first group seized 260 grams of shabu worth PHP1.768 million; the second group yielded 50 grams worth P340,000 and one mobile phone for examination; the third group yielded a kilo of shabu, two mobile phones, and other pieces of evidence.

Both groups are facing charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 'Jomel' is classified as a high-value individual in the local drug trade.
