Police arrest 8 drug suspects, recover P9.3M worth of shabu, 3 firearms

On Saturday and Sunday (July 12-13), police in Rodriguez town, Rizal province, and Lucena City arrested five suspects during anti-illegal drug operations, recovering a total of P3.4 million worth of shabu and two illegal firearms.

In separate operations over the weekend, three additional suspects were apprehended in Lanao del Norte where PHP5.9 million worth of suspected shabu were seized by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The arrests included Macarambon, 39; Abdullah, 38; and Jen-je, 29, a female, who were caught with over 865 grams of suspected shabu during entrapment operations in Barangay Poblacion, Kolambugan, and Barangay Maranding, Lala.

Earlier, three suspects were arrested in Rizal province for P1.6 million worth of shabu and an illegal firearm; while in Lucena City, 'Axl' and her associate 'Bebe' were caught with over PHP1.8 million worth of shabu and another unlicensed firearm during a buy-bust operation inside a cemetery.

All suspects are now under police custody facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while Axl is also listed as a high-value individual and faces additional charges for illegal possession of a firearm.
