PNP reports peaceful Undas despite fire incident

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that this year's All Saints' Day observance, or Undas, was generally peaceful nationwide.

Despite a fire incident affecting more than 20 houses in Bagbag Cemetery in Quezon City and a visitor bringing a toy gun to Manila North Cemetery, no major disruptions were logged during the long weekend.

Up to one million visitors are estimated to have visited Manila North Cemetery on Friday alone, with police maintaining heightened alert status until midnight Sunday.

The PNP has redeployed personnel to assist in relief operations in Bicol and other areas affected by recent tropical cyclones Kristine and Leon.

Police continue to provide assistance at major thoroughfares, transport terminals, malls, and places of worship as families return from visiting cemeteries and reconnecting with relatives.
