PNP doubles police presence for Christmas amid COVID-19

The Philippine National Police (PNP) will increase police visibility in areas of convergence during the Christmas season to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Lieutenant General Cesar Hawthorne Binag, PNP Deputy Chief for Operations, ordered a doubling of police presence in markets, churches, malls, ports, terminals, and other crowded places.

Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana, PNP spokesperson, emphasized the need to strictly implement minimum health protocols in public areas during the holiday season.

Usana warned that despite eased quarantine restrictions, people should avoid crowded areas such as churches, malls, and mini markets to comply with IATF guidelines.
