PNP seizes PHP13.6B worth of drugs, makes 28K arrests

The Philippine National Police (PNP) seized over PHP13.6 billion worth of illegal drugs from January 1 to June 21, 2024.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. reported that the PNP conducted 23,515 operations resulting in 28,804 arrests.

From June 19 to 25, the Southern Police District (SPD) seized PHP2.7 million worth of illegal drugs during 44 operations and made 58 arrests, including significant seizures of shabu and marijuana.

PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil previously called for doubling efforts against illegal drug activities in May, aiming for a drug-free community.

The government continues its intensified campaign to combat illegal drug activities across the country.
