Peaceful start to senatorial campaign period

The first day of the campaign period for senatorial candidates and party-list groups on February 11, 2025, was generally peaceful across the Philippines.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), there were no major incidents reported during the initial campaign activities on Wednesday.

Police officers were fully deployed to ensure public safety and security throughout the day, with the PNP urging candidates and supporters to maintain peace and order as the campaign period continues until May 10, 2025.

The PNP's National Election Monitoring Action Center (NEMAC) reported no major untoward incidents across the country on Wednesday, while the police force remains vigilant in implementing adherence to election-related laws.

Overseas voters can cast their ballots from April 13 to May 12, and local absentee voters have a window from April 28 to 30.

As of February 7, the PNP reported one validated election-related incident in Western Visayas and another suspected incident in Central Luzon that is still being verified.
