PNP reports 376 new COVID-19 cases, total tally reaches 43,113

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 376 new COVID-19 cases among its personnel on Saturday, bringing the total tally to 43,113.

As of Saturday, there are 1,225 active cases and 41,763 recoveries, with the death toll remaining at 125.

PNP chief Police General Dionardo Carlos said the police force is preparing for potential stringent measures under Alert Level 4 if current protocols fail to curb case increases.

On Thursday, PNP reported 295 new cases, nearly tripling from Wednesday's 100 cases, raising active cases to 552 and recoveries to 41,968 out of a total of 42,645 confirmed cases.

Carlos tested positive for COVID-19 on January 2 after experiencing symptoms; he is among the 95.57% of PNP personnel who are fully vaccinated.
