PNP reports 76 new recoveries, one fatality from Covid-19

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 76 new recoveries from COVID-19 on Sunday and one additional fatality.

As of Aug 29, the total number of recoveries among PNP personnel is 32,295 out of a total 34,316 infections with 1,917 active cases.

The latest fatality involves a 53-year-old officer from Mimaropa who died on Aug 21 due to severe pneumonia following hospitalization for high fever and positive test results.

On Aug 28, the PNP reported 160 new recoveries bringing total recoveries to 32,234 or 94.2% of infections with 1,851 active cases and another fatality involving a Metro Manila officer who died on Aug 25.

On Aug 27, the PNP recorded 159 new cases raising total infections to 33,975 with 32,095 recoveries and 1,778 active cases; the latest fatality involves a 34-year-old police staff sergeant from Central Visayas who died on Aug 25 due to pneumonia and acute respiratory failure.

The PNP's death toll remains at 104 with 97,184 or 43.61% of personnel fully vaccinated and 105,016 awaiting second doses.
