PNP active Covid-19 cases exceed 3K

As of Thursday, January 13, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among its personnel exceeded 3,000.

The number of new cases increased by 450 on Thursday, bringing the total to 3,262 out of a total of 44,635 confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic.

There were 31 new recoveries reported, raising the total recovered cases to 41,248 while the death toll remained at 125.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos assured that the surge in infections would not affect police operations and added more quarantine facilities and beds inside its headquarters in Camp Crame.
