PLDT: 91% Visayas wireless service restored after Typhoon Odette

As of Thursday, December 30, PLDT reported that at least 91 percent of wireless services have been restored in the Visayas region following Typhoon Odette.

In Mindanao, engineers are focusing on last-mile restoration with over 98 percent of wireless services up and fixed services nearing full recovery.

Major repairs are planned for Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte, including Siargao, but users were reminded that service availability may still be affected by power supply and fiber cuts.

On Wednesday, December 29, PLDT and Smart Communications reported restoration efforts continuing in areas heavily impacted by Typhoon Odette, with fixed-line services restored in over 90 percent of covered areas in Palawan and wireless services at 83 percent recovery.
