Sen Hontiveros nominates Sen Pimentel as CA minority rep

Senator Risa Hontiveros announced on Wednesday, March 5, her intention to nominate Senate Minority Leader Aquilino 'Koko' Pimentel III as the representative of the minority bloc in the Commission on Appointments (CA) when Congress resumes session on June 2.

Hontiveros highlighted Pimentel's extensive legislative experience and leadership roles, including his previous tenure as Senate President and current position as Minority Leader, emphasizing his capability to ensure qualified individuals are appointed to key government positions.

The CA is responsible for vetting and confirming presidential appointments to the Cabinet, Judicial and Bar Council, foreign service, military, and constitutional commissions.

Hontiveros expressed confidence that Pimentel's leadership will uphold the CA’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and transparency during his one-week term from June 2 to June 13 when Congress adjourns sine die.
