PHP8B worth of illegal drugs seized in anti-drug ops from Jan to Apr 11

As of Monday, April 14, 2025, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that PHP8.0256 billion worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during anti-drug operations from January to April 11, 2025.

Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez, PDEA director general, stated that these efforts align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s 'Bagong Pilipinas' strategy, emphasizing a health-centered and human rights-based approach to combat illegal drugs.

From January 1 to April 11, law enforcement agencies carried out 10,208 operations resulting in the arrest of 13,550 individuals involved in drug-related activities.

Nerez highlighted that Metro Manila remains the primary operational area for drug syndicates within the country, followed by Central Luzon and Calabarzon.

PDEA collaborates with various government agencies to address both supply reduction and demand reduction efforts through preventive education, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration programs.

To date, 29,390 barangays have been declared free of illegal drugs under the Barangay Drug-Clearing Program (BDCP), with over 414,742 individuals receiving various forms of intervention and support.
