Govt provides PHP198M aid to 10,053 families hit by Mount Kanlaon unrest

The government has provided PHP198 million in assistance to families affected by Mount Kanlaon's restiveness on Negros Island.

This aid includes food packs, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, financial support, modular tents, filtration kits, and generator sets for 10,053 families across Western Visayas and Central Visayas.

As of Friday, a total of 12,286 families in 27 barangays have been affected by the volcano's unrest.

Out of these, 3,107 families are being assisted inside evacuation centers while 2,662 families are receiving aid outside.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that PHP127.3 million was allocated for Central Visayas and PHP70.7 million for Western Visayas.
