Phivolcs warns of potential lahars near Mayon Volcano

Phivolcs warned of potential lahar and sediment-laden flows near Mayon Volcano due to heavy rain from Typhoon Rolly.

As of Phivolcs' 8 am bulletin on October 31, Mayon was still at Alert Level 1.

The institute advised avoiding active stream channels and perennially lahar-prone areas during extreme weather conditions.

Phivolcs also warned that Rolly could trigger lahars near Mayon, Pinatubo, and Taal volcanoes due to high-volume rainfall.
